Need tutoring but not sure where to go?  PCCC offers many opportunities for tutoring, it's just a matter of choosing the help that is right for you.  The alphabetical list below contains links to the various tutoring services offered at PCCC.

Academic Success Center

Tutoring for students in College-level Math, Accounting, Statistics, English, Psychology, Economics, History, ASL.  Tutoring for additional subjects will be added as needed.

Developmental Studies Reading and Writing Lab

Tutoring, Study Sessions, and Assistance with (1 credit requirement for course) for students currently enrolled in DE 010 or DE 020.

Tutoring and workshops for students currently enrolled in ELS classes.

The lab provides tutoring in basic skills, ELS, and certain college level courses for students who participate in the Equal Opportunity Fund Program.

All PCCC students have access to eTutoring.  ETutoring offers the Online Writing Lab where you can submit up to 3 drafts of your paper, Live Tutoring where you can chat with a tutor in a one-on-one tutoring session, and Offline Questions where you can leave a specific question for an eTutor.

Gateway Center for Academic Achievement

The Gateway Center offers one-on-one, group, and online tutoring for college-level courses that are being redesigned and piloted within the Center via Title V initiative.  Students must be enrolled in course sections affiliated with the Gateway Center to be eligible for tutoring.  Currently, the Gateway Center provides tutoring in AE 101, BU 101, CIS 101, EN 101, EN 102, HI 101, HI 102, HI 201, HI 202 and MA 103.  The specific course sections affiliated with the Center change each semester.

Math Lab

Provides individual and small group tutoring for remedial and college-level Math courses.  Textbooks, solution manuals, worksheets, sample tests, calculators, and computers with Internet access are available.

Professor Schwartzberg’s Math Forum

The Math Forum is open all year to all students enrolled in any Math Developmental Level course. Students review math concepts with tutors.  Math Boot Camp occurs at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters and lasts for one week.  It offers students an opportunity to advance to a College Level Math Course.  Math Prep (RAMP) runs for three weeks at the  beginning of Fall and Spring Semesters to provide students an opportunity to register for math classes in the Express Semester.

S.T.E.M. Lab

Tutoring for students enrolled in science majors courses (BS 101/102, CH 111/112/211/212, PY 101/102/120/121); related math courses (MA 108/115/120/121); engineering technology; and Computer and Information Sciences courses.

Tutoring for Intro to chemistry (Chemistry 103) and Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2.  Hours are posted on all 3 campuses:

Offers academic advising, tutoring, career counseling, transfer counseling, cultural trips, childcare vouchers, grant aid, book vouchers, and a six-week summer bridge math program.  Eligible students include US Citizens who are low income, disabled, and/or first generation college students enrolled full time or part time (at least 9 credits).

Writing Center

We offer one-on-one tutoring for students at all stages of the writing process, whether it is brainstorming a topic, structuring an essay, or editing and revising.  Consulting is available by appointment only. The Writing Center only assists students in college level and Writing Intensive courses as well as students preparing for the College Writing Exam (CWE).We also offer writing workshops, which are available to the whole college campus.
