Course Description

PL 101 Introduction to Political Science (3 credits)

This course explores the rudiments of political science, the branches of government, political theory, ideologies, behavior, and socialization, and totalitarianism. It also covers the nature of law, sovereignty, international politics, bureaucracy, race relations, and contemporary political issues.

The American Political Science Association is the major professional association in the United States covering the field.

The site offers a list of major journals within political science, including titles in special fields such as American politics, international politics, political theory and policy studies.   An informative link on careers is also included.
