Course Title: MA 101 College Mathematics I (Writing Intensive)
Course Description: This course covers the study and application of the concepts of symbolic logic, sets, finite and infinite mathematical systems. Students will employ stratergies to solve application problems, peform basic set operations, employ the fundamentals of logicby the use of truth tables and Euler daigrams. Also, students will perform operations and use properties on the math system, both finite and infinite and apply basic number theory.
Writing Intensive: This is a writing intensive course, so this course incorporates discipline-specific writing extensively into the course, and the writing contributes significantly to each student's grade. The instructor uses writing assignements to promote the learning of the course content, as well as to increase the students' critical thinking and information literacy skills. Instructors will use both formal and informal writing assignments.
