Foundations Course Description

                                     Foundations Course Description

This course is designed for beginning English language students who want to learn how to speak, read and write in English to pursue a college degree. Students work on improving oral skills, grammar, reading and writing. Some work-related vocabulary and themes have been integrated into the program.

 

     

    Foundations Student Learning Outcomes

    Upon successful completion of the class, students will be able to:

    1.   Write a simple paragraph with a score of 3 or higher on the Adult Education Rubric

    2.   Use the simple present, present progressive and simple past

    3.   Deliver an oral presentation using level appropriate vocabulary and fluency

    4.   Identify the main ideas of a simple reading

    5.   Score 2 or higher on the Adult Education oral rubric
