Getting Started: The "To Do" List
Once you have logged in with your Username and Password (case sensitive), you can start building your electronic portfolio.
Version 2 of eFolio comes with a "To Do" list of items. This appears on the left hand side of the screen while you are in the Build mode. While you are not locked in to completing any or all of these items in any specific order, the list contains the minimum elements necessary for building a successful writing portfolio.
We will make the "To Do" list available here for reference:

STEP 1: Learn about Version 2. |
Begin by taking time to watch the Overview video: |

STEP 2: Change site status to Public. |
By default your site is private when created. Change the site status to “Public” in the property settings so it can be viewed by Internet browsers. |

STEP 3: Send your eFolio URL to your instructor. |
Copy and paste your unique URL from the address bar in your browser and email the link to your instructor. |

STEP 4: Craft your site welcome message. |
Create a new "Basic" content item. Use your name as the Title, put your message in the full text field, and save, then drag and drop the item from “My Content” to your Home page. Optionally, you can upload a photo and drag it to your Home page as well. |

STEP 5: Add contact information for yourself. |
Add contact information for yourself, save it, then drag it from “My Content” to your Home page. |

STEP 6: Add information about your course. |
Add a new Course Taken. Include at least the name of the course, your instructor, and the semester taken, then save. Click on “Class 1” from the menu at the right, then “Build.” Then drag the Course item you just created from “My Content” to this page. |

STEP 7: Change the Title of your course page from “Class 1” to your course code. |
Click on “Class 1” from the menu at the right, click on “Properties,” then change the Title from Class 1 to whatever the course code is for your course. For example, if you are taking Intro to Lit, the course code is EN 205. |

STEP 8: Upload a Critical Thinking assignment and add a reflection. |
Upload a Critical Thinking assignment. Include a Description of the assignment and add a Reflection. Select your class page from the menu at the right, then “Build.” Drag and drop this file from “My Content” to this page. You can add Feedback options for this assignment by clicking the Content Properties icon for the item and then changing the Feedback Setup. |

STEP 9: Upload an Information Literacy assignment and add a reflection. |

Select your class page from the menu at the right, then “Build.” Drag and drop this file from “My Content” to this page. You can add Feedback options for this assignment by clicking the Content Properties icon for the item and then changing the Feedback Setup. |
