Library resources

The PCCC library houses circulating and reference books on music history.   Books on composers can be found in the call numbers ML 410.

For example, biographies of Mozart, Debussy and Brahms can be found at ML 410.M9 M4313 2007,  ML 410.D28 R63 2008 and ML 410. B8 S23 respectively.  Books in the circulating collection can be borrowed.  You will need an up- to- date PCCC ID  ( which is also your library card) or a PALS PLUS card from a participating public library.  Consult a librarian or circulation staff member if you have questions.

Two very good reference sources are:  "Baker's Student Encyclopedia of Music" compiled by Laura Kuhn ( 3 volumes, 1999)

Ref ML 100 .B261999

"The New  Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians"   edited by Stanley Sadie ( 29 volumes, 2001).  This standard source is also available as a database

Ref ML 100 .N48 2001.
