Reading/Writing Samples

You can choose from the wide selection of readings/writing prompts in the Patterns textbook to use as a reading/writing sample, or you can use your own assignment. The goal is to assess the skills that the incoming students possess and the beginning of the semester in order to develop a baseline for your particular course.

If you feel that a student has been misplaced in your course based on the reading/writing sample. Please contact me as soon as possible. We can only facilitate class changes during the add/drop period, which ends on September 13th for the 15 week courses and October 2nd for the 12 week courses.

    Dear DE010 Faculty,

Welcome to the Academic English I Faculty Resource Center.  Here you will find the basic tools you will need to successfully instruct DE 010: Academic English, including syllabi, the course rubric, and collaborative learning ideas.
